I would highly recommend Little Birches. Staff are approachable, friendly and clearly enjoy their work. They make an effort to get to know the children and their play preferences. They have a big focus on outdoor learning and play and daily activities are constantly changing. All communication is clear and organised. Highly recommend!

Updated review 2025 Our daughter has been at Little Birches since August 2023. We couldn’t be happier with the care our daughter receives there. The staff are so friendly and welcoming; it's so clear how much all staff members genuinely care for all the children who attend. Our daughter is thriving and growing with so much confidence thanks to the care she receives. She loves the freshly cooked meals and asks for second or third helpings regularly. The team create such a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment and have made such a difference in our life, and we’re so grateful for all they do. Sita, the Manager, is so approachable and friendly and is always happy to help me. I could go on - I couldn't recommend them more. Review in 2023 We have recently moved our daughter to Little Birches after having some safeguarding concerns with a childminder and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. Within a few weeks we noticed a change in her mood, she seems so much happier and she is starting to say lots of words! All the staff there are just so lovely too. I couldn’t recommend more.

My son attended the Little Birches for 2 years and 8 months, until October 2024 when I had to pull him out immediately. I was absolutely outraged by the negligence and lack of care at his last room. My 2-year-old was forgotten in the garden inside of a pirate ship on the nursery premises. The staff didn’t even realise he was missing until someone heard him crying while trying to climb the gate of the ship to get out. This is beyond unacceptable. The safety and well-being of my child were completely disregarded. How could the staff lose track of a toddler during their activities? Such a lack of attention and care poses a serious risk to the children under their supervision. To make matters even worse, the manager lied about how my son was found, claiming he was “enjoying himself.” In reality, my son was extremely distressed and upset by the ordeal. This blatant attempt to downplay the situation is not only unprofessional but deeply insulting as a parent who trusted them with my child’s care. The lack of accountability and supervision at this nursery is shocking. The fact that such a serious oversight occurred shows a complete failure in their duty of care. Additionally, the nursery does not have supervision cameras, which raises serious concerns about transparency and their ability to prevent or properly address such incidents in the future. This incident has caused my family tremendous stress, and I would not recommend this nursery to anyone. I strongly urge other parents to reconsider before entrusting their children to Little Birches.

Our daughter has been going here for over a year now and she loves it! All of the staff are lovely and friendly and she is always so happy to be going to nursery. We love hearing about her day at pickup and seeing some of the photos posted on the app they use with the fun activities as there is so much for them to do! We’ve been so lucky to find such a wonderful place for our daughter to learn and grow.

We have been with the nursery since 2020 and with little birches since they took over in 2021. Both my boys have thrived by going to little birches, lavendon. They both love it, My eldest who is now at school, often goes to find the staff who looked after him and they always seem happy to see him. Our youngest boy is always happy and keen to go straight into the nursery on arrival, he is very settled and always smiling when we pick him up. All the staff are caring, enthusiastic and clearly invested in seeing the children develop. As parents we have found everyone to be friendly, responsive and approachable. The nursery involves it's parents as much as possible with activities throughout the year. We are really happy with Little Birches and recommend it highly to others.

I can't say enough good things about Little Birches in Brenchley. The staff here are incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. From day one, they made the transition to nursery easier for both my daughter and me, with their warm and welcoming nature. The level of care and attention to detail they provide is simply outstanding. My daughter is flourishing in their nurturing environment, and I am incredibly grateful for the positive impact they are having on her development. Highly recommend Little Birches to any parent looking for a safe, loving, and supportive place for their child.

Our daughter started in the baby room 2 days a week in September. The team were so good at support her with going in and settling her in. She absolutely loves her key worker and loves going in and playing with the other children. She has learnt so much with them as well. Loads of songs, games, crafts and even some sign language and table manners. As first time parents we were anxious sending her to nursery at first but they couldn't have reassured us more with updates by phone and pictures of what she's getting up to in the day. Couldn't recommend little birches west wickham more highly.

Little Birches Langton Green have been amazing so far with my daughter. Every time I drop her at nursery she is so happy and excited which just goes to show how much she enjoys her time with the Little Birches team. The staff go to such lengths to make sure she is always included and given a ‘home from home’ feel. The other children are wonderful and so kind and I couldn’t recommend this nursery/pre-school more highly. Especially if you also want your child to grow up in a more ‘countryside’ and ‘rural’ feel than the other nurseries in Tunbridge Wells.

Little Birches is the most caring and nurturing nursery. Our son settled there so quickly and is always smiling and excited to tell us about his day when he comes home. The staff are really exceptional and truly care about the children.

My daughter attends Little Birches and she has the best time there. Learning new things every week and the team are so kind and supportive. She can’t wait to go back every week, keep up the good work guys!

Brilliant nursery, my daughter is so happy to go here everyday. She comes out so happy, and all of the staff are brilliant. Really nice family atmosphere. Lisa is my daughter's key worker, and can't speak highly enough of her.

Our daughter attends Little Birches and absolutely adores it! As a first time mum, I was so apprehensive about leaving her, but the amazing staff, the care and consideration given has made it the most reassuring process. I have no concerns, nor have I ever since the day she started, I continue to be overwhelmed by the family atmosphere and effort that goes in to every single session she has. Little Birches is a fantastic nursery. Our daughter attended for two years, having just left to start reception. She was so happy at Little Birches. The staff really are wonderful and we can't thank them enough. They provide such nuture and care for the children as well as wonderful learning opportunities. Little Birches Brenchley is every parents dream. Our two daughters have been there for just over a year now and they couldn't be happier there. The staff get to know them on an individual level meaning that they are understood in those important early years. The extra activities such as 'sports club, 'music club', baking etc really makes them stand out as a setting, teaching the children new skills each day. The girls have thrived and we are so grateful to Ali, Jasmine and the team who put so much into what they do. To know our children are in safe, caring hands in a positive environment is everything we could wish for. Thank you Little Birches Brenchley!

A fantastic nursery with nurturing staff and lots of space for children to enjoy

Little birches is amazing. We had a place at another nursery for our daughter when she turned 1 but after visiting little birches and seeing how lovely the environment was we decided to wait until she turned 2 so she could start there instead. The staff are all amazing and we're so pleased with how our daughter has settled in. Can't fault it and would highly recommend!

Our son attends the “Rabbit Room” at Little Birches, Brenchley & absolutely loves it! Every time we pull in to the car park he shouts “nurseryyy” and has such a big smile on his face! His day is filled with lots of exciting things including outdoor play, messy play, baking and dancing, as well as good hearty meals & snacks! The staff are super friendly and spend time filling you in on your child’s day on collection. It’s great to see updates and photos on the app too. We are very lucky to have Little Birches so close to us.

My oldest son went to little birches and had the most wonderful 2 years… so I was so happy for my youngest to get a place. I’ve been so happy with his key worker Nel, I felt straight away that he was in good hands, and he was so comfortable with her, he fell asleep in her arms on his second visit. I have always felt little birches is such a beautiful and safe environment for the children, with dedicated staff that truly care about the children. I couldn’t imagine sending my children anywhere else

Genuinely feel so lucky to have such an incredible nursery on our doorstep. The team are amazing, fostering the perfect environment for our son to learn through play. They have brilliant themed days to celebrate lots of occasions and we love seeing the updates and pics of our boy via the Tapestry app. The garden is a lovely space and I know the kids spend lots of time out there. They've made tonnes of changes in the 6 months our child has been there and it's just keeps getting better and better!

My son only started at Little Birches at the beginning of this year and is already so settled, comfortable and really happy there. It usually takes him much longer to adjust to new environments and so this is definitely testament to all of the staff at this nursery. We are so thrilled that he is now part of such a nurturing, caring nursery where all staff members seem so invested and love what they do. Could not recommend more!

Nothing but positivity to say about Little Birches. Starting with the Manager Nikki who truly cares about the nursery, the children, her staff and the families. The staff are experienced and have been very nurturing/caring towards both of my children who felt and feel safe and happy in their setting. I have used other nurseries and feel Little Birches offers a level of comfort above other experiences I have had. My son was very school ready after 2 years at the nursery with plenty of skills learnt from nursery and went up with a good group of friends.

I can't speak highly enough about Little Birches, what an amazing village nursey! The staff are the best, very experienced and genuinely very caring, plus they'll always take the time to tell you about your child's day and answer any questions. Everything is very well run, they're creative with the indoor/outdoor space, plus they do forest walks, cooking, yoga and various activities throughout the week. My son loves attending and his development and confidence continues to grow! Thank you everyone.

Both my munchkins have attended Little Birches and our experience has been amazing. The staff are wonderful, incredibly nurturing, they are constantly being creative and adding new things to the activity list. There is a real focus on developmental mile stones, healthy food intake and keeping the little ones active. I would highly recommend Little Birches to anyone. It really is a lovely place and my two really thrived here xx

My son absolutely loves Little Birches. The staff are so caring and I really like how they take the time to tell you all about their day on collection. I've noticed such an improvement since he has been at the setting, his language has come on leaps and bounds and he is so much more confident. Highly recommend!

My son has attended Little Birches for 2 and a half years now and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone else. What a wonderful nursery it is. The kind, caring staff are so invested in creating wonderful experiences for the children and my son goes in to nursery happily and leaves with a smile and plenty of happy stories. The outside area is great and just perfect for my active, outdoor loving boy! He has made so much progress at Little Birches - it is unbelievable to think that when he started he had a speech delay and now he is so confident communicating! We are so pleased to have found Little Birches and will miss them so much when my son goes to school in September.

My little girl attended this nursery from January 22 until leaving this month. It’s safe to say Little Birches is an exceptional nursery, providing comfortable and safe place for your children to learn and be themselves. Every single member of staff I come into contact with were above & beyond excellent. The nursery provides daily updates on apps and when you pick your child up, you feel constantly secure in the fact that your child is being looked after personally and not just one of many children at a nursery. Thank you to the whole team for everything you done for my little girl! I hope you continue to do the same for many other children! We will miss you all!

Our daughter went to another nursery nearby and she dreaded going every day. Since going to Little Birches I have seen such a huge Improvement in her. The staff are amazing, she has had significant speech delay due to a sensory disorder but they really went the extra mile to understand her and also push her development. With daily pictures and updates you always feel like she's in great care. I cannot wait for my son to attend too!

I cannot thank Little Birches enough. They have gone above and beyond for our daughter. We cannot believe how much she has progressed since joining back in 2021. Not only are they great with communication but a great support in getting the extra help our daughter needs, before starting primary school. Our daughter went from refusing to attend her original nursery to running in with a smile and not looking back. I highly recommend LB to anyone looking for a nursery for their child. The staff are amazing with the children and care for them like they are their own. The activities provided are brilliant and they always ensure they celebrate different religions. My son has come so far since starting here and we are so sad to be leaving in September as he is now going onto primary school. My twins love attending the nursery and have been very happy there since February 2022. The extracurricular activities are great with forest school weekly, so plenty of extra opportunities for learning. A lot of improvements have been made to the nursery since the new owners took it over, including a lot of work to the outside space. Staff turnover is higher than I'd like, but only because it's sad to see friendly faces leave. I'm reassured this is more due to the staff's own personal circumstances, i.e. long commuting distances, rather than their working conditions and I think this is backed up by certain other staff having been around for a while now. The room is always set up with plenty of fun activities each morning.

Fantastic village nursery where our son is very happy. The nursery has been greatly improved since he joined in 2021 and the staff are brilliant- they really go the extra mile to provide care and learning opportunities that are tailored to our son’s needs. Thank you!

We have been at Little Birches since September 2019, nearly 4 years now with my 2 kids attending one after the other and I can honestly say we have had the best 4 years! The team have been so dedicated in ensuring that each child is safe, happy, loved, and are having a great day, every day. From their one to one conversations with the children to their interactions during playtime my kids have just excelled through their time at LB. My son who was 2 when he started and could only speak a few words quickly grasped speech and was talking full sentences within a few months! The efforts that are made during different religious festivals during the year and how they dedicate days/ week to celebrate properly is just brilliant. I have seen them confidence grow over the years. Extra curricular activities are fantastic and always something happening during the week so that all children get a try, and forest school has been a big highlight too in the lovely woodlands near the nursery. Food wise, the children have been provided a variety of fresh dishes which have helped grow their pallets and have also included diverse dishes too which is lovely to see. It’s just been a pleasure being a part of the LB family and seeing my kids just walk in each day with ease and come out beaming after a great day they have had. Little Birches, we only have 3 months left before my daughter starts reception and it’s going to be heartbreaking and we will miss everyone there! Thank you for best 4 years and we can’t recommend you enough!

Little birches have been absolutely wonderful in settling my little girl. 10 stars for communication and the staff are all lovely. The only reason I give 4 stars is I wish there was flexible payment options. Such as term time only or having the option to pay to collect at 3 when I pick my older child up. I think during these economically tight times this should be available to parents

My daughter started at Little Birches last month and after only 1 morning of tears, she absolutely loves it! I can’t recommend the staff and facilities enough, wonderful setting, beautiful classrooms and the staff are so warm, dedicated and always there to answer all my questions. Lovely calm and friendly environment. My daughter is thriving and so excited to see her key worker each day! So delighted with this preschool 😊

Little birches have been incredible. We feel so lucky to send our son here. Every team member is always kind, friendly, patient and professional. Our son has gone from strength to stength and grown so much in confidence. We love how you celebrate diversity and provide so many opportunities to our child.

My son has attended Little Birches for almost a year now, and I can’t speak highly enough. Little Birches is more than a nursery, the mentors get to know the children so well, they become friends themselves. Evident when your son wants to buy Christmas & thank you presents to his mentors at his own request! The facilities are everything you could ask for, safe, out of sight, with real items to play with eg old laptops, kettles, phones (as opposed to plastic tut!) & the Astro-turfed garden is a blessing for the children to use all year round. The extra curricular activities are what set Little Birches apart - whether your child attends for a couple of mornings or 5 full days a week, they are entertained with the amazing, thoughtful & creative activities / extra curricular sessions that are planned for them, making every session very different & encouraging our children to be curious at every opportunity. We recently attended my son’s 1st sports day and it was such a fabulous morning! Those memories will last, for us and for him. My only niggle is that LB doesn’t take younger babies - I think I could fill a class if they did, with family and friends that would place them from 1 years old. So I have my newest baby on the waitlist in a couple of years time already. Thank you for everything you do Little Birches, especially Mrs Simpkins who as a family, we adore!

Little Birches is a loving and nurturing environment for our little one. So many activities and they are good with them. With diverse staff and children, it offers our child a wider introduction into the world. Communication is excellent and activities are fantastic. Would highly recommend them.

We have both our boys at Little Birches and they love it. Our youngest has been going for about 6 months now, since he was one. The staff in the baby room absolutely adore him and it really comes across when you interact with them. Our eldest was at another nursery previously, which, due to unexpected circumstances had to close at short notice. We got him on the waiting list at Little Birches and were over the moon when he could eventually join. Given his childcare has been a bit interrupted and not consistent until this point, we were a bit concerned, however, again the staff at Little Birches have been fantastic with him. There was a period when the new owners had taken over and a number of the original staff decided to move on. This is understandable as not everyone likes change and they decided their futures lay elsewhere. This did cause some disruption; we were lucky enough not to be affected. Some parents were affected and I can empathise with them being upset - we had of course experienced another nursery closing previously with our eldest and it caused us a significant challenge. However, since the staff upheaval, there has been a vindictive campaign against the nursery and it is very unbalanced. Please do not read the reviews of parents that were (and still are) trying to tarnish the reputation of a nursery that is an asset to the local village. These parents don't have children at the nursery now and while able to offer an opinion of the time they experienced this is not reflective of the nursery as it is now. They are also likely to be reviews based on a reactive negative emotion. Not a calm, considered viewpoint. I'd conclude by saying that having had experience with two nurseries and a child minder in my children's life thus far, Little Birches isn't perfect, but they are always striving to improve, have many brilliant staff, listen to feedback and act on it and are providing a caring local environment that is allowing our boys to thrive. Seeing the investment in the nursery, in terms of the fact it is an old building and the changes to bring it up to modern standards is a sign of the commitment from the owners. The recent addition of extracurricular activities is another positive, our eldest is excited by Forest School. Thank you to everyone at the nursery.

After a difficult change of hands last Spring things have finally settled down in this nursery and it’s working well. The most credit has to go to the wonderful team that look after my daughter; they genuinely care about her, do so many amazing crafts and activities with her, encourage her to be social and use her manners and when I pick her up she quite often doesn’t want to leave! The management in the nursery are making an effort to listen to their customers and help where they can.

Our children (aged 4 and 2) love attending Little Birches in Lavendon. The staff are amazing, very nurturing and caring. The activities the kids do week to week are always educational and super fun for them too. They also love their Forest School sessions and ballet lessons too. Would highly recommend Little Birches in Lavendon!

This nursery has got a experienced manager and dedicated staff. New renovations are improving the environment and my child has been very happy here now that all has settled down. The change of ownership was a difficult time for them but we've gone through those now and are out the otherside. I would recommend this nursery again now. So pleased its a welcoming, loving environment again we will be sad to leave
